Pioneer BDP-LX91: Much anticipated Deluxe Blu-ray Player has arrived
Author: martin // Category: Blu-RayJanuary was an important month for Pioneer Electronics as it finally announced the launch of its much anticipated Blu-ray disc player, BDP-LX91. The company has worked quite hard on the last product and it was expected that the player woul be well worth the wait; and indeed it was.
The very first feature that catches the attention is BD-Live, which basically enables you to upgrade your player through the BD Live connection. This feature has been included and rightly so, to make proper use of extra features that future Blu-ray discs are going to provide.
Coming to the colour tones, it goes one step ahead. In addition to supporting 48-bit HDMI Deep Color, the Pioneer BDP-LX91 also supports X.V. colour. X.V. colour is supposed to produce images with 1.8 times the colour space of traditional red-green-blue or in simpler terms, what you eventually get to see is far more closer to the colours as they occur in life.
Sometimes while watching a movie you want some thing more say trailers or subtitles. To account for that the player has an Ethernet port to let you connect to internet.
Further, it can play all the formats under the sun including Blu-ray, DVD, CD, DivX, MP3, WMA files, JPEG, etc. 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio HD decoding ensure wholesome music experience.
The size may not be a major issue here but at 13.8 kg it’s a bit heavier though. But the price is very competitive.
It is one product worth owning and can definitely be marked as a safe bet especially for those who really love to watch their movies.
