Panasonic DMR-EX79 250GB: Multi-format DVD Recorder complete with a Sizable Hard Disk

The Panasonic DMR EX79 is a multi format DVD recorder that replaces the last years DMR EX 78 with its new tweaks and features. With this new DVD recorder you can simultaneously record and playback tracks. In addition it also offers the other benefits of the DVD-RAM format like random access, chasing playback and on-disc editing. The multi-format compatibility of the DMR-EX79 will let you record TV programs and still pictures on the same disc. Like the previous model from the Panasonic Corp., the DMR EX79 also contains a 250GB hard disk that can record up to 441 hours of video. Its dual layer feature supports both DVD-R and DVD+R but can only copy recordings from the hard disk and the DVD+RW/R recordings can only be made in 4:3 aspect ratio.

The Freeview+ feature of DMR-EX79 allows you record an entire series automatically and record programmes split into two parts. There are some clever tools included into the DVD recorder such as the Free Word Search and Navi Link Search, that lets you easily find programmes within the Guide Plus EPG. With the VIERA Link function, all the AV components can be handled with a single remote control. You can store movie data from your digital video camera by simply connecting it to the USB terminal of the Panasonic DMR-EX79 250GB recorder and data gets stored directly on to the hard disc drive. Besides the USB terminal connection, the DVD recorder also contains an SD card slot that allows you transfer data from your SD Card camcorder.
