August PD712A: Superb Portable DVD Player with Digital and Analogue TV
Author: daniel // Category: DVDI am always fascinated with the products that August comes out with. They have a very different variety and range of products and I think same is true for their long and wide list of admirers. Whatever the reasons, they have their own niche market and that’s what propels them to come out with their own type of products.
The model that caught my attention this time is PD712A, a portable multi-region DVD player that has a screen of 7 inch and also has Freeview built into the system. August is clearly no stranger to Freeview entertainment, as the company also brings Freeview to laptops and PCs with its August Freeview TV DVB-T201 USB TV card. It doesn’t end there for this DVD player either, as it also has a built-in analogue TV tuner. You can watch all your favourite movies and TV programmes (40 of them Freeview) on its small but sufficiently big TFT LCD screen.
The media that it supports cover almost all the available media today. It can play DVDs, CDs, MPEG4 and DivX format. Not just that you can also listen to your favourite radio stations as it has a radio tuner as well.
To make it more useful, it comes with USB port that helps you play files from external sources like hard disc or PCs. You can also insert your SD/MMC/MS memory cards into it and enjoy the video and music files stored it them. It also has external antenna in and an earphone jack.
To make it a complete offering it comes with remote control, rechargeable battery, mains and car power supply adaptors. You can play the August PD712A in your home or you can carry it along on your trips and even use it inside your car. You can plug your earphones in the jack provided and have a great time.
