KEF comes up with the third generation KHT2005.3 5.1 Speaker System
Author: thomas // Category: SpeakersKEF’s 2000 series of 5.1-channel surround sound speakers has enjoyed a great deal of success and popularity from the time it was first launched some eight years ago. But time has changed since then and so has technology. It is because of such unavoidable circumstances that the series has also refined itself in order to be relevant to the present generation. The latest from the series is the KHT2005.3; a third generation sound system which does incorporate KEF’s the much acclaimed sophisticated audio technology but in a more compact form that is meant to save both space and money on your part.
The system boasts of no less than four HTS2001.3 satellites, an HTC2001.3 centre speaker, along with a new Kube-2 subwoofer. Your satellites are sure to grab a lot of eye-balls as they are quite swanky and are innovatively designed.
Meanwhile, the compactly build subwoofer is equipped with a powerful 200W class-D amplifier ad a side-firing long-throw bass driver, diligently supported by a 250mm active bass reflex. Some of the KEF KHT 2005.3 system’s other important specifications include a frequency range of 35Hz to 150Hz, while the maximum output capability stands at 112dB and a 23 litre internal volume. This innovative arrangement means that you can relax and enjoy some seriously deep and full-bodied bass.
You will be surprised that the unit doesn’t believe in a lot of connections, and is basically limited to a pair of phono line inputs.
Another intriguing aspect of the unit is that each of the satellite is out-fitted with KEF’s 100mm UNI-Q driver with a metal dome tweeter and neodymium magnets, which enables the woofer a deliver a much more resounding sound that is normally the domain of larger speakers.
