Dell M209X Projector future Hinges on Dependability

Author: kate  //  Category: Projectors

The latest projector from Dell, the M209X, is an extra dependable model. The projector is also rather inexpensive, and has a decent design that should appeal to you. The miniature dimensions of the device grant it a good deal of portability, which also adds to the product’s versatility.

The projector uses the contemporary digital light processing (DLP) technology to reflect light to each screen pixel, while high-fidelity colour reproduction is achieved by projecting light through a rotating colour wheel. This innovative arrangement achieves a contrast ratio that is higher than other contemporary 3LCD technology. The downside of the technology however lies in that it has slower refresh rates.

Connectivity of the unit is quite good, as it has a wide variety of input options at its disposal including VGA, HDMI, composite and S-video, which allows you the leverage to connect the projector to devices like computers, DVD players and other AV devices. You also get to have other important features like- audio in- and out-jacks in addition to a built-in, one-Watt speaker with the Dell M209X projector. The solitary Watt speakers however, cannot be taken as a remarkable addition considering that they make a lot of noise. The projector, then also comes equipped with a USB port that can be connected to a mouse to act its remote.

The image resolution capability of the projector stands at a not so impressive 1024×768 pixels. Moreover, the menu systems of the unit are another low point as they look messy and unimaginative.

These specifications mean that you can be rest assured of having an upscaled picture quality that is delightfully bright and is also pretty crisp and clear at the same time. That’s not all as the projector has also been incorporated with the company’s much revered colour matching technology which elevates the picture quality to match those displayed on the notebook’s screen. Meanwhile, the world-class Carl Zeiss revamps the image for superior projection, delivering the best possible output. Problems that arise from incorrect angle is automatically checked and corrected by the real time Auto-Keystone technology without any manual intervention.

Meanwhile, the lightweight and portable nature of the device, make it easy to move between floors and to travel with.

The unique colour technology helps the device to deliver consistent colour compatibility along with ample brightness. The input and output options are a bit on the lower side, which is understandable considering its portable nature. You don’t get features like HDMI, DVI, and BNC. Instead you are provided with other alternate features like Component (RCA), VESA (HD15), and S-Video, among others.

Optoma HD70 Projector: Ready to monopolise the Market

Author: martin  //  Category: Television

The Optoma HD70 is not making waves for nothing, as it has enough ammunition in its arsenal to firmly establish its credentials. Aimed at the entry level projector market, the HD70 is a 720p-native DLP projector and comes at a very competitive price, which only adds to its desirability.

To start with the unit has a silent fan system. Once you switch on the Bright Mode “on”, the fan operates at full blast and measures 52dB from 6-inches away. The noise levels of the DLP projector come down even more drastically when you go for the Bright Mode ‘off’, and is just enough to be measurable on the Radio Shack SPL meter.

The contrast ratio by automatically adjusting the lamp output in accordance with the available luminance at the input at any given time. The feature apparently does the job of a “dynamic iris”, in that it facilitates the lamp to output less lumens when the scene is darker, and vice versa.

The Optoma projector has also been inscribed with the latest BrilliantColor Colour Processing technology, and plays a pivotal role in improving the image quality to high-definition levels. The feature adjusts the gamma settings of the unit so that colour combinations appear to be in sync to the given condition by effectively taking into account factors like lighting and brightness.

Other important specifications of the unit include a brightness level of 1000 ANSI lumens, contemporary image resolution of 1280×720, and an on/of contrast ratio4000:1. Connectivity of the unit is quite solid and includes an HDMI (w/HDCP) input, a dedicated ComponentVGA input (HD15), et al.

Marantz VP-11S1H DLP Projector: Enjoy high fidelity Images at a realistic Price

Author: kate  //  Category: Projectors

The Marantz VP-11S1H DLP Projector is a follow-up to the company’s now legendary VP-11S1 model, and, as can be assumed from the letter H in its name, its HDMI sockets have been upgraded to the latest v1.3 specification for Deep Color compatibility. This upgrade is one of the prime reasons why you will like to have a closer look at it. What is also impressive about this beast is that it comes at a huge price cut.

The outlay of the product is belying its low price, and looks superb with innovative designs and solid build quality. The connectivity of the unit is headed by the twin HDMIs, as opposed to just one like with the Optoma HD700X DLP projector. This connections are aptly complemented a pair of component video jacks, a D-Sub PC port, two DC trigger outputs, remote control in/out, along with an RS-232C port that facilitates the integration of the unit into a professional home cinema installation.

Other key features of the unit includes a reasonable contrast ratio of more than 6,500:1, especially because it is a native figure and consequently is independent of any auto-iris systems that may affect the brightness levels during dark scenes in order to boost black levels.

Another feature that towers over the impressive list is the GF9351 video processing system by acclaimed image gurus, Gennum. The technology is boasted by no less than four integral components, including TruMotionHD and FineEdge technologies to augment the fluidity and sharpness of progressive images; Reality Expansion comprehensively elevates colour tones; while the Fidelity Engine component ensures you a high fidelity and detailed image.

Panasonic PT-DW5000U: An impressive Display

Author: thomas  //  Category: Projectors

Buoyed by the stupendous success of the PT-D5500U, the Panasonic PT-DW5000U is ready to take the market by storm. The PT-DW5000U can be aptly called a widescreen version of the D5500U and hosts a number of similar features. The major difference attributed to the DW5000U is a standard XGA resolution projector, while the PT-DW5000U is a 1280×720 widescreen model. There is a slight difference in brightness as well, with the XGA projector rated at 5000 lumens compared to the DW5000U with 4500 lumens.

Apart from the image quality, which matches the brightness levels as theoretically claimed, the unit also does an impressive job when it comes to colour handling. The unit is especially superb at the handling of tough colours for DLP projectors – bright reds and yellows. In this colour department the Panasonic PT-DW5000U can excel just as well as the Panasonic PT-AX200E. The colour combination gets even better when you try the Standard mode, as compared to say, the Dynamic mode. The reds and yellows, in particular, appear more lively and sharp.

Another amazing aspect of this heavy duty unit is that it is capable of performing round the clock action, and can even run an entire year on only a solitary set of lamps! A liquid cooling system, on the other hand, allows the projector to operate at temperatures of up to 110 degrees as well.

The flexibility demonstrated by the unit when it comes to placement is also no less impressive. You can access it via a standard lens, or without one, and instead choose from a total of 6 different lenses. Then, it also has the horizontal and vertical lens shift option onboard, which gives you the ability to merge two or more projectors either horizontally or vertically for a brighter image.

LG AN110W DLP Projector: A masterful Display, albeit Design wise

Author: daniel  //  Category: Projectors

Hurrah! The world’s first flat projector is here. It is all because of the hard work and dedication shown by LG that the LG AN110W DLP projector has finally seen ray of light. The unit is really a piece of aesthetic masterpiece, as far its design is concerned, and will invariably end up becoming the focal point of the room you put it! You however have to be ready to shell out quite a hefty buck if you wish to lay your hands on it. After all, such outlandishly beautiful products come at a price.

The LG unit is solely intended to be mounted on a wall, meaning that you can’t have it any other way, like placing it on a table or other surface. One point that needs to be stressed, while setting up the set, is that it is the proper distance away from the screen. The optimal distance stands at approximately 3.5 metres away. Moreover, contrary to exaggerated claims, it produces a rather toned down diagonal image of 2.5m which is only a third of what has been claimed. You can still get the maximum size as claimed by the company, but only if you place the projector at a distance of 10 metres from the screen!

Functionality wise there are no serious misgivings, as it provides you all the important features such as a composite, S-video and VGA input. The zoom and focus, on the other hand, can be controlled via the supplied remote. A wide range of aspect ratios along with two picture zoom settings are there as well, to assist you in adjusting for different sources. The unit in addition, is capable of 720p and 1280 x 768 data resolutions with a 2500:1 contrast ratio. However, as compared to other DLP models like the Optomo ES520 with 2,600 lumens, the LG AN110W with its low brightness level of only 1000 lumens, comes as something of a surprise.

LG AN110B Projector: The Pathfinder

Author: daniel  //  Category: Projectors

Daring to be different from the pack, the LG AN110B projector has now taken the concept of flexibility to the next level. The main thrust of the unit is to save you of the constant mess that you have to bear with a conventional projector. Moreover, these conventional sets also end up consuming a large portion of an already congested room. All these issues are more than taken care of by the LG AN110B, since you can simply hang it on a wall. No amount of appreciation seems to be enough for LG, who has made this daring move and in the process came up with this novel unit, the first of its kind. It is also necessary to stress that the unit, despite being a first, is in no way a pushover and is a highly competent Hi-Def DLP projector.

Radically designed to fit into the new scheme of things, it has compromised its performance only marginally. The colours appear a bit subdued, and the contrast too isn’t very impressive. The dark levels especially, are rendered completely dark which makes it quite difficult to make head or tail of the action in progress.

The weaknesses however, are more than canceled out by strengths in other areas, such as unusually sharp detail and natural skin tones. The virtual absence of a rainbow effect, a bane of a majority of the DLP projectors, gives it a real head start. The LG AN 110 also adapts well to the demands of standard and Hi-Def sources, and the fan noise is almost non existent. The only serious misgiving that the unit has is its limited zoom option that limits the extent to which you can play with the setting. Furthermore, once the LG device is fixed at its designated position you will have little to do with its operation!

Samsung HLN617W 61 inch DLP Television: Arousing our Curiosity

Author: daniel  //  Category: Television

Big screen TVs, like the Samsung HLN617W 61 inch DLP Television, are a quite a unique breed and we all feel naturally drawn to these massive gadgets. This is because they invariably have an innate advantage over their small screen counterparts when it comes to image quality, and obviously image size. The big companies need no more incentive to try and take advantage of this aspect and have started producing big screen TVs in bulks, consequently pushing the rivalry between the companies to the next level. Moreover, the screen sizes are increasing by the day. The unit in question actually has an imposing screen size of 61 inches!

The unit in question is the flag bearer of the company’s current HDTV home cinema screen and has quite a number of interesting specifications that make it rather alluring, the screen size notwithstanding. In essence, Samsung has very few television models, like the Samsung LE-70F96BD, which actually offer a larger display that surpasses the HLN617W. The display of the HLN617W is a little over 19″ deep, and has a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels that more than matches the HDTV’s 720p, pixel for pixel. It, in addition, automatically converts television signals to 720p.

There is also no dearth of contemporary and user-friendly features, as it has features on board like DNIe video enhancement technology, Faroudja DCDi de-interlacing technology, Digital Noise Reduction, BBE sound and Virtual Dolby Surround Sound (DSS). Apart from reducing fringe noises, these features ensure that you get to view audio-visual images that are replete with superb audio and are crystal clear with a great deal of detail. The display, on the other hand, comes with a universal remote control, twin HD component interfaces, a DVD 480i/p set of component inputs (Y, Pb, Pr) and it will display two separate signals under Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode.

Toshiba TDP-T95U: Get your Dream Features at half the standard Price!

Author: thomas  //  Category: Projectors

The Toshiba TDP-T95U is a practical solution for anyone looking for a decent projector at an affordable price, and in all probability is it unlikely to create a hole in your pocket. The unit presents a really alluring middle option by combining great brightness and a well-rounded selection of inputs, which is a great bargain considering its brightness levels exceed those of the HP MP3135, which is twice as expensive. It also has a great connectivity network that compares favourably with most of the prominent brands of its ilk. The unit’s main selling point is, in fact, that you can basically get all the hip and happening features offered by other brands at practically half their price rate!

In addition, the Toshiba TDP-T95P boasts features left off many budget projectors, such as automatic keystone correction and a monitor-out port. The unit will not blow you away with its images or for that matter connectivity options, but for average features and connectivity at a low price, there is no viable alternate to the TDP-T95P.

The sleek unit has includes the innovative Digital Light Processing (DLP) which delivers high quality XGA images. The factor that the unit is quite large affords it the luxury of having a wide range of input and output options. Apart from having the usual standard ports for analogue, composite video, S-Video, and audio, the Toshiba TDP-T95 DLP projector also has the more sophisticated monitor-out connector, a second computer input, and two RCA-style audio inputs. You will, however, be disappointed that there are no composite video and S-Video cables accompanying the projector. Then again the unit has an unconvincing warm-up and cool-down times cast a gloom over its many interesting aspects.
