Marantz VP-11S1H DLP Projector: Enjoy high fidelity Images at a realistic Price

Author: kate  //  Category: Projectors

The Marantz VP-11S1H DLP Projector is a follow-up to the company’s now legendary VP-11S1 model, and, as can be assumed from the letter H in its name, its HDMI sockets have been upgraded to the latest v1.3 specification for Deep Color compatibility. This upgrade is one of the prime reasons why you will like to have a closer look at it. What is also impressive about this beast is that it comes at a huge price cut.

The outlay of the product is belying its low price, and looks superb with innovative designs and solid build quality. The connectivity of the unit is headed by the twin HDMIs, as opposed to just one like with the Optoma HD700X DLP projector. This connections are aptly complemented a pair of component video jacks, a D-Sub PC port, two DC trigger outputs, remote control in/out, along with an RS-232C port that facilitates the integration of the unit into a professional home cinema installation.

Other key features of the unit includes a reasonable contrast ratio of more than 6,500:1, especially because it is a native figure and consequently is independent of any auto-iris systems that may affect the brightness levels during dark scenes in order to boost black levels.

Another feature that towers over the impressive list is the GF9351 video processing system by acclaimed image gurus, Gennum. The technology is boasted by no less than four integral components, including TruMotionHD and FineEdge technologies to augment the fluidity and sharpness of progressive images; Reality Expansion comprehensively elevates colour tones; while the Fidelity Engine component ensures you a high fidelity and detailed image.

Hitachi AX-M140 home cinema system- Raking up a storm

Author: kate  //  Category: Hi-Fi Systems, Home Cinema

This latest offer from Hitachi in the field of home cinema system has turned out to be quite an eventful one. The reason behind the unit, the Hitachi AX-M140, generating such a level of drama and excitement is that the unit for one resembles a regular hi-fi system. Then, the fearsome array of features adorning it, most of them high-end, acts as a magnet pulling you towards it all the time. The icing on the cake however turns out to be the ability of the system to play DVD movies and pump out MP3 tracks from a built-in hard drive. These features come in addition with the ability of the unit to play CDs and has a built in digital FM tuner.

These features are not only for decorative purpose or to just rake up the number of features as the Hitachi AX-M140 delivers quite a devilish performance on the DVD side. The playback is simply superb with no undue disturbances. Party goers would also love the surround sound feature of the unit which creates quite a party atmosphere once it is switched on.

Apart from the DVD feature on the AX-M140, it also has a built-in hard drive MP3 player that can store around 10,000 tracks. Moreover, it has a USB port that can be used to transfer tunes from a PC or portable hard drive. You can even connect an iPod to the unit and play songs directly from its music collection.

You will however, feel the heat when it comes to controlling the whole set up. Hitachi’s unimaginative menu navigation and frighteningly small two-line display option for the MP3 player leaves you begging for a magnifying glass!

Sim2 specialists in manafacturing projectors for domestic and commercial purposes deliver the HT300E.  Practically every brand has this horrible habit of launching a product that doesn’t do justice to either the price or the brand it represents. It happens mostly because brands want to cash in on the popularity and goodwill generated by their earlier models and sometimes because they have not done their homework right. It is the customers that have to bear the brunt of the inconvenience created by such incompetence on the manufacturers part. The Italian projector brand Sim2 has neither of those tendencies and has created an enviable global reputation for a policy of never compromising quality to reduce costs. Its latest offer is the HT3000E and should be of interest to you, regardless of the price tag!

The first thing that you will notice with Sim2’s HT3000E is it has a gorgeous design with beautiful curves and high-gloss finish that gives it a high quality look.

You will also feel at ease since there is nominal operational noise, or for that matter rainbow effects. Then, there is the contemporary 1,920×1,080-pixel resolution as

Toshiba TDP-ET20: All-in-One Home Entertainment Projector System

Author: martin  //  Category: Projectors

Toshiba has recently come up with its all new TDP-ET20, an All-in-One Home Entertainment Projector System. The unit, as the name apparently suggests, has focused on incorporating tried and tested features, rather than trying anything outrageous or different, as far as new features are concerned. Going by the product specifications and its various pros and cons, the projector designers appear to have done their home work well. Designed in a slick manner, it is unlike its competitors like, say, the Optoma MovieTime DV10, in the sense that you can sit extremely close to the screen. Another advantage of the unit is that, as they are very easy to set up, you can conveniently place the projector pretty close to the screen to fill it.

The unit has a built-in sub-woofer which delivers quite an impressive performance, though it is unlikely to shake the foundations of your house. The front of the ET20 sports a resessed lens, with no zoom feature, but there is a focus ring on the top of the projector, over the lens. The lack of the Zoom feature is by no means a dampener for a portable projector that will sit close to the screen anyway. Interestingly enough, the unit will fill a 100″ diagonal 16:9 screen from only 3.9 feet away. Furthermore, it is also well bestowed with a number of input and output devices, prominent among them are an HDMI input, component video input (the usual 3 RCA jacks), S-video, composite video, and a computer input. It also has a coaxial input and output for audio. Moreover, it has the unique service port feature, and an RS-232 port for computer command and control of the ET20.
