The recently unveiled BH100 HD-DVD/Blu-ray Player from LG is certainly different from those you generally come across: I personally prefer to call them pretenders. It hosts a number of intriguing features that are simultaneously user friendly and high-end. Apart from offering you full HD 1080p picture quality from high-definition discs, it also incorporates the latest technologies like the BD-Java interactive function. This function allows advanced menus and functions to be displayed over the video of Blu-ray Discs. The potent partnership of Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD audio-video playback technology, on the other hand, overshadows the unit’s inability to produce the same level of advanced menu interactivity while playing HD DVD discs. The new LG BD-300 High Definition Blu-ray DVD Player is clearly different from the rest of the pack. One significant feature that is responsible for this distinction is the player’s Blu-ray playback complete with internet technology. In essence, the device can be described as a network Blu-ray disc player which allows you to use Netflix instant streaming and BD-Live. The feature is in many ways unique to this LG product, as most competitor products, including the Sony BDP-S300, lack it completely. Using the Netflix subscription you can stream and watch films straight from Netflix to your television. The BD Live, on the other hand, is an interactive technology that allows you to access online features, such as product stores, special clips, downloads, and other exclusive features.
