The DV-BD606 is the first Blu ray player by the Japanese electronics manufacturer, Onkyo. The unit weighs around 4.1 kg and is sized 435 mm in width, 82.3 mm in height and 359mm in depth. The blu ray player consumes 30 watts when in use and 0.8 watts when on standby. The Onkyo Blu-ray player DV-BD606 is a High definition ready set with a 1080 pixel video resolution. This model can playback blu ray discs with full HD 1080p resolution for video of any forms of discs. It can play CDs in DivX, MP3 and as well JPEG formats. The blu ray player can take any blu ray disc and perform with full brilliance and finery of HD resolution at a speed of “24 frames per second”. (more…)

The Japanese manufacturer of high-end audio and video systems has unveiled plans to release its first blu-ray player, coming this autumn 2008. Onkyo was one of the first members of the HD-DVD consortium to offer a HD-DVD player along with Toshiba, but production has now stopped completely after the end of the format battle. (more…)
