Samsung UE40B7020: One of the LED TVs driving the Success of Samsung

Adding a new member to its family of LED-backlit flat screen HDTVs, Samsung Electronics has introduced a new ‘LED TV’. In an effort to differentiate it from CCFL-backlit LCD televisions, Samsung’s new “LED TV” features the “Edge LED” technology. The latest addition to its already growing number of first class LED TVs, Samsung UE40B7020’s ‘Edge LED’ technology is quite different from the local-dimming LED backlighting system we have seen on previous models. In “Edge LED” HDTVs, white LEDs are mounted along the edges of the screen so that it illuminates a cleverly arranged array of reflective plates which then steers the light forward and out of the screen. Featuring an astonishing slim panel depth and purportedly lower energy consumption (since less LED bulbs are used), the Samsung UE40B7000 HDTV is a gadget worth waiting for.

Equipped with good looks, the UE40B7020 is as pretty as its more expensive sibling. The Samsung LED TV is remarkably slim and due its use of edge-mounted LED backlighting, it is just 30mm deep at its deepest point. It is worth to wait a second and wonder how Samsung managed to fit digital and analogue tuners into such a small space. Featuring a 40 inch screen, the TV offers a display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Equipped with HDCP support, it has an aspect ratio of 16:9. A widescreen TV, the Samsung UE40B7020 LED TV can display formats like 1080i (HDTV), 720p (HDTV), 480p (EDTV) and 480i (SDTV). Weighing 14.78kg, the TV has two speakers. Featuring a sleep timer, it also has Picture in Picture feature. Meanwhile, the TV comes with included accessories, remote control batteries, AV (RCA) cable, component cable, cleaning cloth, SCART cable and remote control.
