Active matrix organic light emitting diode which is commonly known as AMOLED is a type of display which is used in a number of devices. The display is one of the most sophisticated parts of a device and it is developed by some of the most experienced professionals. This technology is pretty intricate and is used in various mobile phones. In a mobile phone an ultra thin but quite bright AMOLED display is fitted. The mobile phones that are installed with an AMOLED display don’t really require a backlight. This technology is very famous in the low power and low cost large screen televisions as well.

Active matrix display

AMOLED technology can be explained easily but the functioning is pretty intricate. AMOLED is an active matrix display which consists of the OLED pixels which have actually been deposited in a very thin film of transistor. This film then forms a matrix of pixels which generate light upon the electrical activation which that actually functions as a variety of switches. This also controls the current flowing to each and every pixel. The current is basically controlled by at least two different TFTs at each pixel. One pixel is used to start the charging of the storage capacitor. On the other hand, the other pixel is used to provide the voltage source at the level which is needed in order to create a constant current. This will also eliminate the need for very high current.

Energy saving

Most of these displays are very light in weight which is the biggest benefit. Additionally, these are very durable and rugged which enhances the performance of this device. It consumes a low amount of power which saves a lot of energy. On the other hand, the Samsung technology provides superior image quality that will take your breath away. These displays are among the best selling displays because it has a low cost if compared to LCDs. It is a rollable display and can be easily tucked away when it is not in use. The only problem with this television is that it does not provide the kind of brightness which some other LCD televisions do.

Impressive clarity

It is pretty easy to understand AMOLED Samsung technology. The clarity is superlative and that is why it is among the best display technologies in the world. There are various websites as well which provide detailed information about AMOLED technology and you can refer them if you are eager enough to know more about them.
