At CES in January Toshiba announced their latest release for the United States, the Toshiba Cell TV. The Cell TV is is one of the most advanced home entertainment systems available, offering a range of features once thought impossible.

More Power, Better Picture

What makes this TV special is its unique Cell engine, which has 143 times the power of current televisions. It’s this power, previously used for gaming consoles and high-power PCs, that allows for enormously enhanced picture quality. True Super Resolution Technology gives rise to amazingly accurate imaging, enhancing both SD and HD signals.

3-D Viewing

One of the most exciting features of the Toshiba Cell TV is that anything and everything can be watched in 3-D. This was, until now, an undreamt-of feature in home entertainment systems. Besides accepting multiple formats of 3D input, this TV can also convert any 2-D content into 3-D in real time. Home entertainment comes to life with hyper-realistic viewing of sports, movies, video games, and just about anything else.

Built-in Server and Connectivity

This TV has a built-in server with 1TB HDD, BD player and Wi-Fi capability with an ethernet port with DNLA, 802.11n Wi-fi and wireless HD. Content can be downloaded from the Internet, or transferred from your computer. Your favourite photographs, videos and music can now all be stored in one place: on your Toshiba Cell TV.

The Future of Home Entertainment

The Toshiba Cell TV, hailed as ‘awesome’ by technology reviewers, is set to be the future of home entertainment. A release date hasn’t been set for the UK yet, but if you can’t wait to get your hands on a good home entertainment system in the meantime, the Sony BDV-E300 home theatre in a box is a very good alternative.
