Home cinema projectors are among the most sought after products by home cinema enthusiasts. There are different players offering numerous products. Optoma has been in the business of designing and manufacturing such products for a long time now and their projectors have always been appreciated by consumers.

The HD700X 720 is one such projector that derives praise for its performance. It guarantees High Definition entertainment experience to its viewers. Its basic features and specifications seemed very promising so we decided to see for ourselves what exactly does it offer.

The features that they are promoting at the onset are, HD ready, bright image, highest quality digital connection and 10 year colour guarantee. Watching movies using the Optoma HD700X was one thing we enjoyed and I must say the experience of playing games was also quite memorable. And yes, with 1300 ANSI lumens the brightness was there to see.

The projector is DLP Projector that weighs only 2 kg. It offers a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a resolution of 1280×720. Its native aspect ratio is widescreen. The bulb used is low with 180W only but the life cycle is claimed to be 3000 hrs. The overall experience of watching movies and TV using this projector was not at all bad, as I have pointed out already.

Coming to the video inputs, it supports all the formats like NTSC, SECAM, PAL, etc. through RGB, S-Video, Composite video and component video, and of course HDMI. Further, it also supports all the digital television video formats like 480p, 1080i, etc.

The price at which it’s being offered is quite competitive and I think the 10 year colour guarantee offer is a real add on. Overall this projector is not an eye catcher but still a good bet.
