Panasonic DMR-BS850: Blu-ray Hard Disk Recorder captures HD Content

Panasonic has send a message to its rivals by launching the first ever ‘Blu-ray’ recorder. This player is having built in free satellite tuners also. The Panasonic DMR-BS850’s hard disc is having a 500 GB capacity and also has a Blu-ray burner which is compatible to all the varieties of recordable disc’s media. This will be available in the market of UK from around the next June. The DMR-BS850 is also equipped with a seven-day EPG which is searchable, two ‘HD’ digital tuners and is even compatible with HD telly which displays the HD channels from free satellite’s hatchling HD service.

This player is also having the ‘Viera-Cast software’ from Panasonic which will allow viewers to get access to the Picasa web albums, Eurosport highlights, Bloomberg news reports, YouTube clips, and others. A spokesperson from Panasonic quoted saying that by the next year autumn, ‘Viera Cast’ is expecting to receive an upgrade, which will allow the users to customize the home screen by adding fresh feeds, programme widgets and applications. The DMR-BS850 is total HD player with a playback of 1080p, just like the Panasonic DMP-BD35; however, the DMR-BS850 can record the 1080p as well. Moreover it is said to be compatible with the most of AV standards which includes DTS HD, Dolby True HD, Java, 7.1 lossless decode and DivX. It is also having a DV, SDHC and USB ports for connecting the USB hard disks, camcorders and the new Panasonic’s SD cards with high capacity. Seeing at the product profile and the features of this new product by the Panasonic, it is sure that it will take the circuit with a storm. The price of this blu-ray recorder is said to be around one thousand pounds at the time of launch.
